What is NAFAS
Flower arranging clubs and societies banded together as the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) in 1959.
The Association has since been a unifying and guiding mainstay to thousands of men, women and juniors whose love of flowers has opened up a whole new world of creativity. In 1984 NAFAS was granted charitable status in recognition of its education activities. With over 100,000 members, it ranks among the most notable specialised National Associations.

London
Focus Group 2000 celebrated their first 10 years by holding a flower festival in the Wisdom of God Church, Lower Kingswood.
“Church flower-arranging paints a certain picture. Beautiful blooms sprouting from blocks of green foam and hours of patient, meticulous devotion. But a group of 20 horticulturalists turned that traditional image on its head at the weekend, adorning a church with their contemporary floral artwork...”

The National Show - July 2010
Harrogate
Banstead Flower Club took top honours at the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies’ (NAFAS) annual show in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, held on July 9 and 10. The winning display in the club category of the NAFAS competition was by Elaine Middleton and myself, both Banstead members. We created a floral design to interpret the title ‘A Dream Unfolds’ using, among others, flowers that had been hand-picked from our own gardens.
Margaret Trépant, chairman of the club, was in Harrogate to see us triumph. “It’s terrific. Elaine and Yan created a wonderfully interpretative design, full of beautiful flowers and the prize is well deserved.
“The whole flower club is enormously proud of them and I’d like to thank all the members for their support.
“It’s a huge achievement to win this national prize and will certainly raise the profile of Banstead Flower Club.”
